15 lb felt paper is named for its weight, historically weighing 15 pounds per 100 sq ft. It is water-resistant due to the asphalt or bitumen used to make it, but is not waterproof. 15 lb felt paper can be used for lighter weight projects, while 30 lb felt paper offers more heavy duty protection.
